Chokolit are Biting Back on the 29th May 2008 at Chester Zoo, by launching the Biting Back Bar at the first place in the UK to stock the bar.
Martin Davies, Head of Catering Retail and Events for the Zoo, said: “As a conservation charity, we applaud the effort of Louis and Chokolit in helping threatened orangutans.
“The Biting Back bar is chocolate with a conscience and we would hope that anyone who buys it will read the important messages on the wrapper. Similarly, the proceeds from the sale of the bars will help our Realm of the Red Ape Field Programme and provide a welcome boost to our vital orangutan conservation work.”
Chokolit's Biting Back Bar is committed to raising awareness and taking action against the threat to Orang-utans and their habitat.
Orang-utans are disappearing fast from our planet.
Habitat loss and poaching are pushing them towards imminet extinction. Every minute, every day and area equal to six football fields of rainforest disappears due to unsustainable palm oil production.
"At 16, I'm old enough to understand the reality of this issue and the impact it could have on the future. But I'm also young enough to act now and help shape the world I want to be living in."
